Self-locking karabiner with a "friction spur" to quickly provide added friction. Designed for rescue descents (e.g. two-person rescues) and lowering heavy loads. However it has also been found very useful by seconds belaying a heavy leader on sport climbs when lowering them back to the ground using a normal belay plate.
The spur helps increase the friction for improved control of the descent of a heavy load and the rope is easily inserted into the spur, without opening the karabiner.
The "Twist Lock" automatic locking sleeve is unlocked by a simple rotation.
The Keylock nose system helps prevent snagging of the karabiner when clipping the rope in.
