A very light, multi-purpose belay/abseil device, with range of friction adapted to different rope types from 6.9mm twins, through 7.1mm - 9.2mm halves to 8.9mm - 10.5mm singles. V-shaped grooves regulate the amount of braking friction on the rope according to its diameter and condition. It can also be used by instructors bringing up two clients and will lock off automatically if used in "reverso" mode. An extra hole in the device allows a small karabiner to be inserted to aid releasing a locked off rope so that a client can be lowered if necessary (remembering to tie the second client off first!). This new version for 2019 takes a wider range of rope diameters than the previous version (Reverso 4).
- Multipurpose and easy to use.
- Classic belay technique with both hands on the rope.
- Ropes glide smoothly through the device.
- Can be used for abseils.
- Reverso mode for belaying one or two seconds; commonly used on multi-pitch climbs.
- Independent and simultaneous belaying of two seconds in Reverso mode.
- While belaying in Reverso mode, a karabiner placed in the release hole allows the belayer to give slack when the device is under tension.
- Rope installation diagrams for belaying and Reverso mode are engraved on the device.
- Adapted to a broad range of rope diameters.
- V-shaped friction grooves enable controlled braking.
- The rounded design of the rope slots limits wear and extends the life of the device.
- Durable, compact and lightweight.
Rope compatibility:
Single ropes 8.5mm - 10.5mm (11 mm possible, depending on the rope's suppleness).
Half ropes 7.1mm - 9.2 mm.
Twin ropes 6.9mm - 9.2 mm.
Weight: ca 57g.
