A sewn dynamic rope lanyard/sling designed to shortlink into a belay point, particularly on sport routes, and to make abseiling safer. It could also be used as a long extender though to be honest you are unlikely to do this.
The idea is that you lark's foot the large open loop through your belay loop (ie loop the device through itself and pull tight) and when you get to the chain on a sport route you can clip in using a locking karabiner clipped throuh the small sewn hole at the other end of the device. You can secure the krab in the loop using a
Beal Pinch and use the krab to clip the device out of the way either roud your back or through your legs when not using it.
The other sewn loop at 40cm can be used to clip an abseiling device into so you can ab off quickly and safely.
- Dynamic rope - safer than using a tape sling.
- Stitching protected by moulded covers.
- Developed by André Laperriere of the Mountain and Rock Climbing Federation of Quebec.
