A comprehensive guidebook describing the sport climbing found around the Cordillera Cantábrica mountain range in north-west Spain. The climbing is situated between the cities of Gijón on the north coast and León. This rugged, compact and incredibly green part of Spain is one of Europe's best-kept secret climbing areas. Included for the first time is an overview of some of the bouldering areas in this region.
The guidebook covers 80 selected crags in Asturias, Cantabria and León - some of the larger crags covered are Teverga and Quirós in the Valles del Trubia; Pelúgano in the Valles de Nalón Y Aller; plus Valdehuesa and Valverdín-Pedrosa near León. In total around 4,500 routes are detailed across a wide range of grades.
At the start of each crag there is information regarding the type and style of climbing found plus the best time of the year to climb there. Also included is a location map and detailed approach information. All the routes are shown on colour photo topos along with their height.
There are QR codes scattered throughout the book linking to videos of various routes and boulder problems across the regions. In this way you can get an even stronger flavour of the venues and get some 'sweaty-palm' psyche even before you arrive.
Well illustrated with colour photos, photo-topos and maps.
