If there was a competition for the worst guidebook covers it's odds on the Irish would win it hands down and this guide to the splendid climbing in the Wicklow Mountains, just south of Dublin, is no exception. One suspects that they do it on purpose to discourage the English. Inside it's not much better with a strange map that makes it look as though Dublin is almost surrounded by sea, poor to average photo topos (but at least they're in colour) and a middling selection of photos.
Don't let that put you off! The Wicklow Mountains offer brilliant granite climbing in superb settings and a visit to Glendalough is highly recommended.
